Cozumel November 4-10, 2007
Sue and I traveled with our Cincinnati Dive Store, Central Coast Dive Center, to Cozumel for a SCUBA diving vacation November 4th thru 10th, 2007.
We had a package deal with Fiesta Americana Hotel which included all our dives with the DIVE HOUSE dive operation and all our food and drinks.
At the end of the trip, our group of 12 agreed that this was an excellent operation and provided us with very good service. We are a group of pretty experienced divers and the operation respected that. We dove once a day from their Dive House III boat for a 2 tank dive each day. Our crew was fantastic.
Food at the Fiesta Americana was very good for the morning and noon buffets. The dinner menu was somewhat sparse and the "seafood" entrees were not very good in my opinion. Overall, this hotel package did provide a good value and I would come back again. We originally were going to stay elsewhere but the Fiesta Americana saved the group almost $300 per person so we switched. The rooms were very clean and the whole hotel was pretty well maintained. Some of the railings around the hotel were not in good condition but it appeared that they were working on that.
As the saying goes... Your Milage May Vary... Things do have a way of changing. I do think Cozumel has some of the best SCUBA diving in the Carribean with wonderful water clarity and visibility. It IS a very popular dive destination and you can expect to see lots of other divers at the popular sites. Some care has to be exercised to come up on the right boat and not get lost from "your" group.
